Shopping Therapy

Boy was today a nice day. It didn't start out so great though (e.g. JM3 (Jumpinmonkey 3) got up too early, couldn't go back to sleep, argument with KingRob, missed church because we were running so late) But it did get better. About half way through the day KingRob asked me what I was planning on doing today. He asked me if I wanted to go shopping while he watched the monkeys. I didn't waste a second of time and headed over to the mall to get a couple of shirts. Just shirts. I don't have any that look better than a potato sack so my goal was to find a shirt or two that looks "fashionable". I'm too old for trendy, so I'll have to go with "fashionable". And at my age, it HAS to be written with quotations or it just doesn't make sense.

So I get going in the direction of the mall and immediately have a mini panic attack because I don't know where JM3 is. It lasted approximately 2 heartbeats then I remembered he's with KingRob back at home probably taking a nap by now. Whew. I really should get away from the kids more often so I remember what that feels like!

At the mall I go to my favorite little boutique where everything costs twice as much as it should be but it's oh-so-cute. I am hoping to find something on sale. I only have one hour to shop so I decide to start there to get it over with. Of course they have adorable "age appropriate" clothing with flair. And shoes too. And purses (but the purses are ugly) . The sales ladies start to visit with me and we begin to talk about raising girls in todays world. Now I usually have an opinion on this sort of talk and even though I don't have any girls, I am a girl so I get interested sometimes in what goes on in the girl world. However, today I have only 1 hour to get in, get my shirts, get out and get back home. The lady starts telling me about her friend who's daughter is dating a criminal and blah blah blah... I look at my watch... only 45 more minutes to go! On and on she goes about this poor girl. Finally she just stops as if she's realized she's said to much and I am free to get out of there. I make haste to Macy's and don't look back!

I got home an hour late but KingRob wasn't mad and he even wanted me to model my new "fashionable" shirts. The first was an olive green Tee with buttons at the center of the neckline. It had a white undershirt with lace that pokes out of the buttons of the top shirt. Very stylish compared to what I had at home. KingRob thinks it's a little too sexy for a T-shirt. I think he likes it but doesn't at the same time. Hmm.

He took the boys to play golf while I made fajitas for dinner. Yum.

Monday morning looms ahead. I hope to get more sleep tonight. Hopefully JM3 will do well tonight and not need me too many times.
